Comment choisir un carnet d'entreprise vraiment Made in France ?

Focus on raw materials & traceability

Full traceability: the story behind our materials — from Aveyron leather to Landes kraft paper for your professional notebooks

At La Compagnie du Kraft, we don’t just make notebooks. We create work tools that carry a story, a place, and a craft. Our positioning is clear: we are a French manufacturer, based near Paris since 1930. But that foundation goes far beyond our workshop—it extends into every raw material we select and every French supplier we partner with.

For HR leaders like Claire, choosing employee gifts or onboarding tools is no longer just about aesthetics or function. It’s a strategic decision—one that reflects meaning and values. In a landscape where “sustainability” and “eco-responsibility” are often overused and underdefined, transparency becomes the cornerstone of credibility. That’s why we openly name our suppliers. We invite you to explore our 100% French, fully traceable supply chain—and understand what gives each La Compagnie du Kraft notebook its character and durability.

A heritage rooted in craft: a French manufacturer since 1930

Since 1930, in Poissy near Paris, our workshop has been built on a tradition of demanding craftsmanship. We don’t follow fleeting trends—we uphold a know-how that has stood the test of time. Our story is one of transmission, resilience, and a deep belief in creating objects that last.

Our philosophy is simple: a work notebook should be a reliable companion, not a disposable item. That’s why we design refillable and repairable notebooks, engineered to endure years of daily use. This commitment to durability starts long before production—with the rigorous selection of our raw materials.

Why transparency matters: a brand that names its suppliers

In today’s market, where “Made in France” is often diluted, naming our suppliers is a deliberate choice. It’s a commitment to transparency, authenticity, and meaningful CSR. For mid-sized companies, values shouldn’t just be stated—they should be demonstrated.

Choosing partners who ensure full traceability sends a clear signal to your teams and your clients: you prioritize quality, ethics, and local economies.

At La Compagnie du Kraft, we have nothing to hide. On the contrary, we take pride in revealing the origins of our materials—because they define who we are.

Exceptional leather: tannerie Saturne’s century-old expertise

Our Heritage Leather notebooks are more than products—they are the result of a collaboration between our workshop and Tannerie Saturne, a historic French tannery sourcing hides from the Limousin region, supporting local farmers.

From Limousin young bulls to vegetable tanning
We use leather from Limousin young bulls, known for its strength and refined grain. More importantly, it is vegetable-tanned leather—processed using natural plant extracts like oak, mimosa, and chestnut. Unlike chrome tanning, this method is slower, more environmentally responsible, and produces leather with unmatched durability and integrity.

This isn’t about superficial “aging” or marketing-driven patina—it’s about a living material that improves over time without compromising its structure or composition.

Thickness and durability: built to last
We select full-grain bovine leather with a substantial thickness (2.0–2.4 mm). This ensures resistance to intensive daily use. Our notebooks are made to be handled, carried, and used without compromise. The leather won’t warp or tear—it’s a long-term investment for your teams. Natural pigments and an oiled finish enhance both resilience and understated elegance.

Kraft paper from the Landes: Gascogne Papier’s pure fiber strength (since 1925)

For our Heritage Kraft notebooks, we partner with Gascogne Papier, a French institution founded in 1925 in Mimizan, in the heart of the Landes forest.

From local pine forests to our workshop
Gascogne produces kraft paper made from 100% virgin pine fiber sourced from sustainably managed Landes forests. This is a fully renewable cycle—each harvested tree is replaced, preserving both the ecosystem and local economy.

This is not anonymous, low-grade recycled paper. It’s a high-performance natural fiber with a fully traceable origin and a clearly defined production process.

Legendary strength for everyday use
Gascogne kraft is known for its exceptional mechanical resistance. Historically used in demanding applications like industrial packaging and cement bags, it is built to endure.

A notebook made with this material doesn’t just look authentic—it performs. It withstands daily wear, whether in meetings or on the field. It reflects the strength and reliability your company stands for.

Every detail matters: A 100% French supply chain

Traceability doesn’t stop at primary materials.

  • Our elastic bands come from Saint-Étienne, crafted with natural rubber cores using French textile expertise.

  • Our binding systems are precision-machined in Haute-Savoie, in the historic bar-turning industry, ensuring durability, lightness, and environmental consistency.

Every component is part of a coherent, fully French ecosystem.

More than a notebook: a statement of values

The tools and gifts you offer your teams reflect your company’s identity. For HR leaders seeking alignment between actions and values, our notebooks provide a concrete solution.

A true extension of your CSR commitments
Choosing La Compagnie du Kraft means choosing transparency at every stage. Every material is traceable. Every supplier is identified. Every product is designed to last—refillable, repairable, and cost-effective over time.

You’re not just offering a notebook—you’re offering a statement.

Avoid greenwashing. Choose proof.
In a market saturated with vague “eco-friendly” claims, proof matters. We don’t rely on empty messaging. We provide names, locations, dates, and processes.

That’s what full traceability looks like.
